What does one of the shittiest beers (next to Keystone) and one second have in common? They’re going to be teaming up and you’re better off for it. Granted, the current campaign for High Life is pretty entertaining, a one second commercial is fine by me. This marketing stunt will take place during the Super Bowl and will leave all you classy folks out there sad you’re missing out on the other 29 seconds.

Ahhh, the lovable scamp known as Mark Cuban is in the limelight again. Same antics, different situation this time. After J.R. Smith of the Nuggets threw an elbow at Antoine Wright, Cuban got a bit huffy. At halftime he ran onto the court to talk shit to Smith who challenged him to a game of 21.

TEBOW’ND

After much hype leading up to this game, the Gators have pulled it off. It wasn’t a blowout which was really nice to see. Both teams had their share of turnovers but the interception by Black sealed the deal.

There isn’t much surprise to how good Tebow is and his on and off the field persona is pretty commendable. The only aggravating thing was watching the game last night, it seemed like the announcers had some Tebowners because every single time the guy did something (run for a first down or put on his helmet) we were reminded of how great he is. I’m not trying to take away from what he’s done but give it a bit of a break. Tebow’s not going to give you a percentage of his salary when he hits the NFL.

Congrats to the Gators.

More ridiculous news for the day. When it’s not lame sports like soccer or NASCAR, next up is hockey. The absurdity for the event falls in the mouth of Jarkko Ruutu. He apparently bit Andrew Peters through his glove and left a little boo-boo on his thumb. When did everyone become such pansies? First you start the argument by rubbing your glove in the guys face (SUPER TOUGH) then as retaliation you get bit?! I think both players should be kicked out of the league and sent to boot camp for a while. Man up fool!

The celebrations in San Diego have carried over into the locker room of the Chargers. Vincent Jackson was arrested today on suspicion of drunk driving. This isn’t anything out of the ordinary for the Chargers who seem to really like hitting the sauce then jumping behind the wheel. Remember kids, don’t drink and drive…you might spill it!

In a move of “brilliance” the Cubs are signing switch-hitter Milton Bradley to a $30 million deal. Yes, he can hit but was this really the answer? Bradley is not exactly the most consistent player on the field because of injury and I hope that won’t play out this season.

For the record, I have been a Cubs fan all my life. Before the ticket prices went insane and douche bags from all over Lincoln Park and Wrigley ville started attending. Will this be “our season”?

When you end up blowing the final games of a season and do not clinch a playoff spot, true feelings start to arise. This scenario has played out for the New York Jets and Brett Favre. Thomas Jones conducted a radio interview and spoke his mind on the situation, saying Favre should’ve been benched after the 3 picks he threw. I have to agree with you Thomas. It seems like he had some special treatment at the Jets HQ even acquiring a private office where he stayed out of the locker room. Now that’s team spirit!

I don’t know what Charles was thinking, partying a day before everyone else?! Mr. Barkley got a little over anxious and ended up getting pulled over while being tipsy. (My guess is a fuzzy navel or cosmo) From running boards to running traffic lights, Barks keeps it real. Nothing else crazy happened, the blood test results will be back in a few days. Sports Illustrated posted up a little montage of the worst teams in sports. It’s no surprise the Lions are numero uno after their 0-16 season from hell. To console them, they should just turn to slide 3 – Connie Mack’s A’s. All you can say is HOLY shit! They went 36-117 on the season. At what point do you question whether to pack it in? There’s some other choice picks (Dennis Green’s Wildcats & the 72 Sixers) There’s also some hockey teams but no one really cares about that anyways.
